Welcome to FlourishED Psychology.

I'm Jayne Dray, a registered clinical psychologist and the heart behind this practice. With warmth and professionalism, I'm dedicated to providing compassionate evidence-based therapy and support for individuals with eating disorders or associated challenges (such as anxiety, depression, perfectionism, low self-esteem or difficulties tolerating distress and regulating emotions).

Together, we'll embark on a transformative journey towards a healthier relationship with food, your body and ultimately yourself.

helping YOU Feel Like The Best Version of Yourself.

I am honoured to connect with you in therapy; to support you to strengthen your self-worth, to stand up to the eating disorder or anxiety bully and create a purposeful plan to reconnect you with the things that matter most in your world.

Please know that it is never too early to seek support. The sooner we intervene with the unhelpful thought patterns, feelings and behaviours that are affecting your wellbeing; the shorter the therapy will need to be in order to get you back to living your best life.

Our Services:

I offer evidence-based therapy for older adolescents and adults who are experiencing an unhelpful relationship with food, eating and their body. Therapy can be delivered in person or via telehealth.
I provide treatment for a range of eating disorder diagnoses and associated challenges including:

  • Body Image Concerns

  • Disordered Eating

  • Anorexia Nervosa and Atypical Anorexia Nervosa

  • Bulimia Nervosa

  • Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorder (OSFED)

  • Binge Eating Disorder

  • Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)

  • Clinical Perfectionism

  • Anxiety

  • Low Self-Esteem

  • Emotion Regulation and Distress Tolerance difficulties

I offer evidence-based therapy utilising a cognitive-behavioural approach. Interventions can include CBT-E (cognitive behaviour therapy - enhanced, for eating disorders), CBT-T (ten-session version), CBT-guided self-help or MANTRA (cognitive interpersonal therapy). I also employ a range of other techniques drawing from DBT, Mindfulness and Metacognitive therapy. Our sessions are collaborative and focused on empowering your recovery through setting individualised goals to create meaningful change.

Hi, I’m jayne

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years experience providing treatment for people with eating disorders. This includes working as the Senior Clinical Psychologist for the SA Health Statewide Eating Disorder Service (which has outpatient, day program and inpatient programmes), as well as supervising psychologists across the service.

I provide supervision to clinicians around Australia in CBT-E and CBT-GSH via telehealth services and have provided supervision for the NEDC/ANZAED Credentialing program. I am also a member of the Australia and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED), and an Eating Disorder Credentialed Clinician.

Referral Process:

Please use the form below, email or phone to commence the process to book an appointment, and I will respond to you within my consulting hours.

If you think you are eligible to claim via Medicare under a Mental Health Treatment Plan or Eating Disorder Plan, please schedule an extended appointment with your GP (e.g. 30 mins).

This will allow your GP enough time to complete the referral and perform the necessary medical monitoring. Once you have confirmation the GP has completed the referral and it has been sent to me, please make contact with me to confirm your initial appointment time (via email, text or phone and I will respond during my consulting hours).

Please feel free to email me to enquire about the status of your referral at any time.

Rebates:

You can ask your GP about your eligibility for accessing the Eating Disorder Plan (EDP) or Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP), to access the Medicare rebate towards the cost of sessions.

Under an EDP, eligible patients can access a Medicare rebate for up to 40 psychological sessions in a 12-month period. A GP review will need to occur after each 10 sessions, in order to continue to access the EDP. Please be aware that you will need a consultation by a psychiatrist or paediatrician in order to access more than 20 sessions, so discuss this with your GP early (due to the high likelihood of lengthy waitlists for these specialists). Please be aware that the EDP will expire 12 months from date of initiation.

Under a Mental Health Treatment Plan, individuals can access a Medicare rebate for up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year (Jan – Dec). You will need to see your GP for a review after Session 6.

If you have Private Health insurance, you are able to use this for sessions that are not part of a Medicare rebated session.

It is worth contacting Medicare directly, to find out if you meet the Medicare threshold, within each calendar year. If your gap and out of pocket costs meet the threshold, you will receive higher Medicare benefits under the Medicare Safety Net.

Fees:

$350 (GST inclusive) for a one off 80-minute initial assessment session

$275 (GST inclusive) for 50 minute ongoing sessions

$137.05 (GST inclusive) Clinical Psychology Medicare rebates apply for sessions, as I am a registered Clinical Psychologist.

Cancellation Policy:

At FlourishED Psychology, I understand that unexpected circumstances may arise, requiring you to reschedule or cancel your appointment. Your commitment to your well-being is important to us, and we strive to provide a supportive and understanding environment.

We kindly ask that you provide at least 48 hours notice if you need to make any changes to your scheduled session. This allows us to offer the appointment to another client in need of support. Cancellations within 24 hours of the session time will incur a $90 fee, and not arriving without notice will incur full fees. Please note that you are unable to claim for these fees. We do offer the option to conduct appointments via telehealth, if you are unable to make it to our clinic, allowing you to avoid the cancellation fees and still receive the support you need.

To make changes to your booked appointments, please reach out via my preferred communication of email, or alternatively phone and leave a message, to inform us of any necessary modifications. We will do our best to accommodate your request where possible. As a reminder, an SMS and email will be sent out during the week of your appointment, as a courtesy.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. We appreciate the opportunity to support and connect with you.

FAQs

  • A: Each therapy session is 50 minutes in length, providing us time for meaningful exploration and progress.

  • The number of therapy sessions can vary depending on individual circumstances and treatment goals. Together, we will create a personalised treatment plan that aligns with your needs and progress. I do recommend weekly sessions, particularly for people eligible for an EDP, based on the recommendations of evidence based therapy protocols. This will allow you to gain meaningful traction with implementing and revising the goals that we set at each appointment.

  • I utilise evidence-based therapy approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), mindfulness techniques, MANTRA (cognitive interpersonal therapy), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills and more.

  • Unfortunately, I am unable to provide crisis or out-of-hours support. Your well-being is important to me, and I want to ensure you have the appropriate resources when you need them.

In case of an emergency or if you require immediate assistance, please reach out to the services listed above under Crisis Support.

For individuals with an eating disorder, please ensure you are having regular medical monitoring with your GP.
